Houston DJ Jeffery Mac puts a different spin on the "Dirty South" in this 74-minute mix of gritty minimalism, luscious dub techno, and shoegazing melodies. The tracklisting reads like a best-of-2006 list, spanning from Anja Schneider to the Knife (with Severed Heads thrown in for good measure).

Earplug, Issue 75, August 17 - 30
This is Houston: Jeffrey Mac from of all places Houston delivers a mix titled Meditations that’s perfectly sequenced for 74 minutes, just the right length for a CD (which is what it should be it’s so good). Putting his commercial cousins to shame, Jeffrey serves up a delicious mix of Serafin, the new Booka Shade, the Field, a dollop of prog trance, as well more than a few hot new tracks that we can’t quite recognise but must own. My Bleep vs. Silent Shout – genius! Tracklist please! [via ilx.wh3rd.net]
