I’m honored to be invited back for another episode of Contemporary Arts Museum’s Steel Lounge Underground series. This month features myself, The Tontons and Austin favorite Chicken George. Last month, the party moved to the main upstairs gallery, so there’s more space to shake it and plenty of room to accommodate a large crowd. I’ll have copies of a new mix CD on-hand for this event; stop by the booth and pick one up!

While doing some house renovation this past weekend (ah, domesticated bliss, etc.), I came across a wooden box full of old mix tapes. Score! The top prize in this cache was the master cassette of a drum and bass mix that I recorded in the fall of 1994. I thought this cassette was lost to time, which makes the find just that much more sweet.

‘94 was a vintage year for this music; the mix is easy on the anthems, heavy on the rollers and full of vibe. So without further ado, here it is, digitized from the original C90 and presented for your listening pleasure: Harshing Your Mellow.
